كوينز فيفا 16 Lionel Messi's four-year association with EA Sports looks set to come to an end with the contract expiring and no new deal in place.

The Barcelona star has appeared on the front cover of FIFA computer games for the last four years, but 2017 could herald a change.

Although an extension to Messi's deal is not thought to be impossible, EA Sports are reportedly exploring other options.

The last English edition not to feature Messi was FIFA 12, which had Wayne Rooney and Jack Wilshere on the cover.

Messi's Barcelona team-mate Neymar, and Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo are both unable to take over from the Argentine as they have contracts with Konami, who make Pro Evolution Soccer.

Reports in the Spanish press claim Colombia international James Rodriguez is in line to become the new face of بيع كوينز فيفا 16.

Sergio Aguero, who featured on the Christmas advert for the game alongside Messi, is another contender.
